I get conflicting theories when to neck size only or full size casings. I reload for .308 cal and use mostly factory shot ammo cases. Can anybody give me clear advise on this. Will be appreciated.

Different cartridges react in certain ways to neck sizing. I have only recently started using necksizing dies (Lee) for my 243 and 303. I really enjoy not having to fiddle with any lurication and have had good results on the range.
My advice would be to rather neck size and only full length resize once you experience chambering problems.

The buzzword in reloading is consistency.
I totally agree with MJ. Neck sizing for cases fire formed in a specific chamber is to me the best option. A firm closing bolt insures perfect headspace even if the headspace is bigger than specification. I loaded 243 Win for many years and only use a bushing neck sizer die. Never had doughnut problems ether. I don’t anneal case necks, I only do stress relieving. The Redding, Wilson or Forster seating die principle will give you the best control, concentricity and consistency.
Hi Dave,
With a "off the shelve" hunting rifle where the chamber is cut to SAMMI specs it is usually a good option to just do neck sizing and not full resizing everytime you load a batch , with FL resizing on such a "loose" chamber will only put undue stress on your cartridge and the life span of your brass.
Monitor your C.O.L after each fire when it gets to long then do a FL resize and trim if required
FL resizing and body resizing etc is more for a competition chamber where the tolerances is tight
