A petition against the establishment of an open pit and underground coalmine at Mapungubwe, which will destroy the country’s most important cultural heritage site, has been launched by the SA Hunters and Game Conservation Association (SAHGC) to convince the Government to rescind its decision to allow the mining development.

‘n Petisie teen die oprigting van ‘n oopgroef- en ondergrondse steenkoolmyn by Mapungubwe wat die land se belangrikste kultuurerfenisgebied sal vernietig, is deur die SA. Jagters- en Wildbewaringsvereniging (SAJWV) van staple laat loop om die Regering oor te haal om die besluit oor die mynontwikkeling te herroep.
